Careers in Disability and Aged Care

Have you ever thought about a career in disability and aged care?

Helping others can certainly bring great personal reward.

As many of our care team will attest, developing strong bonds with the people that they care for, and their families, can be the most satisfying part of the job.

Our care team enjoy being an important part of people’s lives, feeling valued and appreciated for the work that they do in making life a little easier for someone in need.

This doesn’t just apply to our direct support workers but extends to our support coordination and client service teams and business administration who all share a focus on assisting our clients to gain independence, to participate in the community and to achieve their goals.

All of our staff have a personal investment in helping others.

Support work can be an ideal career for those seeking flexible hours.

Depending on your lifestage, a career in the industry can provide much needed flexibility when it comes to determining your work hours – whether you are looking for just a few hours of work each week, or a full-time role.

Support work does not just require a ‘qualified’ and ‘experienced’ worker.

At Assured, we believe that technical and on-the-job work skills can be learned.
Working in disability and aged care, however, requires someone who is big-hearted, and people focused with a strong sense of community, and who has a genuine desire to help others.

  • Whether you are a: School leaver, student, parent looking to return to the workforce, a carer currently providing unpaid support, an employee in career transition or a health worker looking to change from a clinical setting
  • Whether you are: Currently qualified in support work, unqualified, or looking for retraining and upskilling opportunities

The most important thing to us are the values that you bring to the organisation!
